When cell phone manufacturer HTC unleashes a new mobile phone, it always draws a lot of attention. The most recent handset, the Wildfire is no exception and for it is easy to see why. With all the bells and whistles you’d expect from a Smartphone, its specifications include touch screen technology, 5MP digital camera and Wi-Fi Internet access.

For a Smartphone of such high specifications, the Wildfire retains relatively compact dimensions and is very light, just 118 g. Its compact dimensions and light weight make it a pocket friendly handset which is also comfortable to hold and use when out and about.

HTC Wildfire utilises on both 3G coverage and Wi-Fi technology. In areas covered by 3G, access to the net is provided via an HSDPA connection at speeds of up to 7.2 mega bytes. A much faster connection can be achieved thanks to Wi-Fi connectivity which detects the signals emitted through Internet routers and harnesses these in order to provide a faster Internet connection. Both EDGE and GPRS are provided in class 10 versions to provide connections to cellular networks. Means to connect to other hardware devices include both Bluetooth and micro USB connections.

As you’d expect from the manufacturer, a selection of features and applications provides an enviable degree of everyday functionality and appeals to a range of demographics. Social networking fans are provided with applications providing direct access to Facebook, Flickr and twitter, whereas a number of other popular websites are catered for with access to YouTube, Google and Picasa. The versatile media player supports many different formats of both music and video files such as MP3 and MP4 whilst a number of games and a stereo FM radio player are also provided to keep users entertained for hours on end.

The impressive 5 mega pixel digital camera offers a method of taking top quality images thanks to a resolution quality of 2592x 1944 pixels. In order to simplify the task of taking great quality photos, both Autofocus and smile detection are provided along with an LED flash. The ever popular geo-tagging feature is included which records the location at which a photo was taken courtesy of GPS.

With an increasing presence in the high end Smartphone market, HTC handset seem to become more and more advanced with each new release.
