Batangan

- Supergroup: Mangyan
- Subsistence: Swidden corn and rice; beans, sweet potatoes, yams, taro, sugar cane.
The Batangan live in the interior forests of Mindoro north of the Buhid. They are a subgroup of the general Mangyan culture, living in settlements of from five to twelve single-family houses situated on slopes near mountain streams, and named after the oldest resident. The Batangan do not employ the Indic stcript used by the Buhid and Hanunoo.
