Welcome

The mission of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) is to create and support a campus culture that promotes the research enterprise.  ORSP assists the campus community to apply for and secure external funds in support of research, scholarship, and creative activities. The office provides guidance, information, and technical assistance to faculty engaged in externally funded research, instruction, community service, and other scholarly activity. In accomplishing this mission, ORSP ensures accountability, compliance, and stewardship for sponsored programs as directed by the values of our campus and by all applicable Federal, State, and University policies, procedures, and regulations.

The CSU Artificial Intelligence Educational Innovations Challenge is now open for proposals! Award amounts range from $30,000 to $60,000. Call for Proposal

Resources about executive actions and changes in policies and practices affecting federally funded research

Council on Governmental Relations (COGR) is an association of research universities, affiliated medical centers, and independent research institutes. COGR has developed a new resource page on the their site dedicated to providing information, analysis, government documents, and other resources about executive actions and changes in policies and practices affecting federally funded research.  ORSP has named two RSCA Grant Proposal Coaches for 2025 (A Pilot Program)

ORSP is pleased to announce that Linda Dobb and Sarah Nielsen will serve as RSCA Grant Proposal Coaches for the 2025 calendar year. Starting in January 2025, Linda Dobb and Sarah Nielsen will collaborate with the Associate Vice President for Research, Sponsored Programs, and Graduate Studies and the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) personnel, including Faculty Fellows, to support faculty and other PIs in developing competitive external grant proposals. The responsibilities of the coaches will include offering one-on-one consultations, reviewing and editing grant proposal drafts, and helping faculty navigate grant guidelines and requirements. The coaches will also promote available grant development services to the campus community and work to strengthen faculty involvement in external governmental and non-governmental grant-seeking. This pilot program will run through the 2025 calendar year. Faculty can reach out to the coaches to obtain editing or review support before grant proposal submission to external entities

 

New STEM-NET Fellow

Ayona Chatterjee, Professor and Chair of the Department of Statistics and Biostatistics, has been appointed the STEM-NET Fellow for 2024-2025. The CSU systemwide STEM-NET program is dedicated to advancing research, fostering community, and encouraging innovative educational initiatives across the CSU network. In her role as the STEM-NET Fellow, Dr. Chatterjee will collaborate closely with the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs to assist faculty with exploring and pursuing grant funding opportunities.

Recent Policy Updates

Research Participant Incentives

ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ now has a policy that permits compensation in the form of an incentive for participants in human subjects research.  Research participant incentives may be paid to current ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ students and people who are non-ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ students or employees.  ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ employees may not be paid a research participant incentive.  Student incentives are paid in the form of a credit to a student's University Student Account.  Incentives for people who are not ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ students and employees may be paid in the form of a gift card.  More information about human subjects research participant incentives can be found on the .
