Cal State East Bay recently announced the appointment of Robin Hart as the head coach of the university’s women’s soccer team. Hart is currently the head coach at Menlo College in Atherton she led the team to an 11-5-3 overall record, its best since 2014. She will be replacing Cal State East Bay alumna Amy Grace who retired in January after 17 years as head coach.

"I am thrilled to welcome Robin as our new women's soccer head," Jason Carmichael, director of athletics, said in a statement. "She comes highly recommended by several administrators within the [California Collegiate Athletic Association.] More importantly, I was encouraged by her clarity of vision in describing how she wants to move the program forward. I am very excited to add her to our Pioneer team."

Before taking the position at Menlo College, Hart spent two seasons as the top assistant coach at Sonoma State, where she was responsible for recruiting, practice planning, video analysis, academic support and the team’s strength and conditioning program.

In addition to coaching, Hart was a standout student-athlete herself spending two seasons at San Francisco State after transferring from Cal State Bakersfield.

She said she’s excited to join Cal State East Bay and lead the women’s soccer team.

“I cannot wait to hit the ground running … and be a positive addition to the department and the campus community,” Hart said.
