Cal State East Bay is currently accepting pitches for one of five spots at the upcoming EBx Spring 2019 event.

This is the university’s second TEDx-style event and will be held March 28 at the Hayward campus. Anyone interested in auditioning should submit a two-minute video recording that the EBx selection committee will review prior to candidates auditioning live.

Topics for presentations can include the following:

The big idea: Talks that make one or two solid points

The tech demo: An onstage look at a clever or new invention the speaker helped create

A performance: Music, dance, puppetry or another captivating performance

Artist’s statement: A showcase of art and an explanation of the meaning and process

A scientific dazzle: A presentation about the amazingness of science and discovery

The small idea: Not all ideas are big and this presentation would feature an engaging take on an interesting topic

The issue: Exposes the audience to a problem that they may not otherwise know much about.

Entries are due Jan. 31 and should be submitted through the EBx website.
