Cal State East Bay senior Brianna Terrance was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games between Feb. 16-22, the conference has announced. Terrance recorded her first career double-double on Friday (Feb. 21) and scored career point 1,000 on Saturday (Feb. 22) as the Pioneers enjoyed crucial wins over Cal State Stanislaus and Chico State to remain in the CCAA playoff race.
She averaged 23.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and shot 54 percent from the field during the two games. Terrance went for 25 points and 12 rebounds in the team's 92-78 victory over Cal State Stanislaus. On Saturday, needing 22 points for 1,000 in her career, she did exactly that via a 9-for-14 shooting effort from the field.
Terrance currently leads the CCAA in field goals (129) and 3-point field goal percentage (.458) during league play. She ranks fourth overall scoring averaging at 15.7 points oer gane in 20 conference contests.
Her top-10 all-time ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ program records include 413 field goals (No. 1), 1,000 points (No. 3), .473 field goal percentage (tied for No. 4), .684 free throw percentage (No. 8) and 441 rebounds (No. 8). Terrance has knocked down 176 field goals this season, eight shy of the single season school record set by Shawn Spangler during the 1982-83 campaign.
Cal State East Bay will be on the road for its final two regular season games as the team attempts to qualify for its third consecutive CCAA postseason tournament. The Pioneers will face San Francisco State on Friday, Feb. 28, and Sonoma State on Saturday, March 1.
