SA Lobby, RAW Lobby, and the New UU
Clothing Drive

UHP is hosting a clothing drive and swap! Drop off your lightly used clothes and shoes to the SA Lobby, RAW Lobby, and the new UU anytime between 4/13 and 4/24. UHP will collect these items and organizing them for a clothing swap during Earth Day on 4/22 (details on Earth Day, below). All unwanted items will be donated to charity.

Drought Awareness Q&A

Get the facts about the California Drought and learn what ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ is doing to conserve water and eliminate waste from urban run-off. Panelists include Dr. Michael Lee (AGES), Jim Zavagno (Facilities Development & Operations), and Donna Placzek (Environmental Health & Safety). Hosted by the Office of Sustainability. Light refreshments provided.

Clinton Global Initiative University Workshop

Are you a student with an innovative, world-changing idea that is looking for funding? Attend the Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI U) workshop to learn how you can submit your ‘Commitment-to-Action’ to the Clinton Foundation and be eligible for funding to attend the CGI U National Conference and earn funds for your project.
This workshop will highlight ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ students that successfully submitted Commitments-to-Action to CGI U and attended the 2015 National Conference. Hear their stories and learn how you can get involved with CGI U at ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ.

Are You Asking, 'How Can I Work in a Sustainability Role?'

Hayward's own award-winning sustainability author Graciela Tiscareno-Sato will provide ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ students an overview of corporate, startup, and entrepreneurship employment options, having to work in all three settings. Recognized as one of the nation's Top 100 Green Leaders by PODER ("POWER") Magazine and a 2014 White House Champion of Change, her 1st book in the Latinnovating series of green economy innovation case studies was listed as one of "13 Hot Books from Sustainability Through Leaders" at the Sustainable Brands conference in San Diego. The 2012 International Latina Book Awards in New York City, name Lattinovating "Best Business Book."

"Can We Kick Our Addiction to Oil?" Dr.Craig Collins, a professor at ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ East Bay, will be speaking on the fossil fuels in our economy. Please join us for a riveting discussion on the current economic situation and possible solutions for the future on energy productions. .Hosted by the Political Science Club, light refreshments will be provided.

Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System Info Session

The Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System™ (STARS®) is a transparent, self-reporting framework for colleges and universities to measure their sustainability performance. ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ is a STARS Participant and will be starting the process this Spring through the ENVT 4800 Senior Seminar Course.
Check out this info session to learn about STARS, meet the class that will be starting the data collection, and engage with campus stakeholders.
