Looking for a fun activity to do at home this week? Join the SustainEastBay Club meeting this Tuesday to create your own reusable bag or mask while repurposing an old t-shirt. Learn all about the Cal State East Bay student group that is leading campus sustainability efforts like Campus Clean Ups, Muggy Mondays, and field trips in the local community. The Office of Sustainability will be speaking (live!) with Urban Tilth, a Richmond-based non-profit organization that hires and trains local residents to cultivate agriculture in west Contra Costa County to help build a more sustainable, healthy, and just food system. This discussion on “Food Justice & Sovereignty” will address food desserts and discrimination in low-income and communities of color with Adam Boisvert, the Program Manager for Urban Tilth and a teacher of Urban Agricultural at Richmond High School.
