African Ancestry Faculty and Staff Association
Our Mission
That the African Ancestry Faculty and Staff Association (AAFSA) be dedicated to fostering a vibrant and inclusive university community by upholding core values of Equity, Sanctuary, Wellness, and Authenticity.
- Equity: We strive to provide equal opportunities, promote cultural sensitivity, and deepen understanding amongst Black Faculty and Staff as well as all members of our university community.
- Sanctuary: Be committed to creating safe, trusting spaces where social justice is upheld, ensuring every individual feels valued and supported.
- Wellness: We support the well-being of our members by encouraging a healthy work/life balance, prioritizing physical health, and offering enrichment opportunities to enhance personal and professional growth.
- Authenticity: We endeavor to build and sustain spaces of belonging, fostering a strong sense of community and connection among faculty and staff.

Our association will meet regularly to engage in open dialogue, share ideas, and offer mentorship, working collaboratively to address concerns and drive progress towards a more inclusive campus. Each monthly meeting will serve as a platform to discuss and resolve issues, ensuring that our initiatives align with our commitment to a supportive and equitable university environment.
