Program Description

The WSU Diversity Scholars Program is a partnership between OSCAR and Washington State University (WSU). WSU is a land-grant institution with several campuses located all over the state of Washington and award graduate (MS and PhD) degrees.

The goal of the program is to build a bridge between CSU East Bay and WSU, mentor potential grad students like you, and increase diversity in the Pacific Northwest.

Program Details

Campus Visit:

Scholars will be funded to visit the WSU campus located in Vancouver, WA! Opportunities are campus tours and meeting potential faculty mentors for graduate studies (WSU campus varies).


Access to Mentoring:

Scholars will be paired with a faculty member at WSU for progress towards grad school and the graduate school application process.


Enact Change:

Scholars have the opportunity to enact change and serve as diversity advocates and change agents on campus.

  1. Can be any major, enrolled at ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ.
  2. Identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, or as a Person of Color), and/or as a person with a disability.
  3. Be interested in pursuing a Masters or PhD degree offered at any of the WSU campuses and identify* with at least one WSU faculty mentor.

*”Identify” means you found a WSU faculty member by the WSU website, who is doing research with disciplinary interests aligning with yours. Do not contact any WSU faculty about the program at this time.
