How to Find an Advisor
Psychology majors who want advising on General Education (GE) and Major requirements should contact the College of Science Student Service Center: Email cscistudentcenter@csueastbay.edu and include "Psychology Major Advising" in the subject line.
You can also find your GE and Major Advisor on your BayAdvisor page. In the “success team” box, you should see the name and contact information for your dedicated advising team.
Faculty Advising
Psychology majors who want to discuss career planning and graduate school should speak to any faculty advisor. The faculty advisors are professors who teach in the department. They have office hours scheduled around their classes during which they meet with students for advising and class help. Faculty advisors are usually available only while classes are in session, and not during breaks. Students aren't assigned to a specific faculty advisor and can meet with different ones at different times.
Faculty Advisor Appointments
Students can schedule an appointment with all advisors on BayAdvisor:
- Log in to BayAdvisor
- Click on Schedule an Appointment

- New transfer students and non-majors should select Psychology Faculty Office Hours. Psychology majors can select Psychology Academic Advising.
- If you want the largest set of available appointments, don't select any advisor's name.
Individual Major Advisors
Faculty advisors may also be contacted over email or through their drop-in office hours, listed on the department's office hours page.
