- What you love about ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ: Sense of community and supports for all walks of life!
- What you do in your free time: Work out, watch TV, or play games with my family
- Fun fact: My cousin & I auditioned for Disney Channel when we were young
Destiny - CIA, Orientation Student Director
destiny.escatel@csueastbay.edu- Major and year: Transfer student from Chabot! I graduate spring 25’ and will earn a bachelor's in psychology!
- Dream career: Doing something I’m passionate about and where I can grow as a person!
- Hometown: West Covina, CA but was raised in the Bay Area!
- What you love about ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ: I love the community and how diverse our campus is. ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ offers a lot of opportunities for students to grow! I love seeing the sunsets from the core bridge!
- What you do in your free time: I enjoy going to the movies! (I’m a big movie goer!) I also enjoy going to concerts!
- Fun fact: I collect vinyl records! Mainly pop, since I am a pop culture fanatic as well! (I own around 200+)
Elia - CIA, Transfer Programs
elia.varela@csueastbay.edu- Major and year: Ethnic Studies and minoring in Criminal Justice. I transferred from Chabot and I’m in my second year at East Bay!
- Dream career: I want to ultimately be able to work within my community and become a positive role model.
- Hometown: Born in San Francisco but claim the wonderful city of Hayward as my hometown. I was raised here for the majority of my life (#haystack).
- What you love about ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ: How close in proximity it is to my family because they can see my perseverance as I pave the way for them as a first-gen college student.
- What you do in your free time: I enjoy annoying my lovely cat named Ollie, tending to my plants and writing or doodling in my journal (I recommend junk journaling!).
- Fun fact: I’m president of the Tau Sigma National Honor Society, Eta Epsilon chapter here at ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ. I hope to help other transfer students feel comfortable at East Bay and I look forward to making more connections on campus! :)

- What you love about ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ: What I love about ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ is the scenery around the campus and how supportive everyone is.
- What you do in your free time: What I do for my free time is walk, play video games, and doodling
- Fun fact: A fun fact about me is that I enjoy car shows and going to a local go-kart track and spend hours there.

- What you do in your free time: I like to spend time with my family and once a month I like to go hang out with my friends in Santa Cruz.
- Fun fact: During the pandemic, I built a gym in my backyard. I got a little obsessed and eventually ended up building a second gym in my garage.

- What you love about ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ: I love the different first-generation programs they offer here at ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ and the sunset view from the CORE.
- What you do in your free time: I like to read different genre books, watch anime (my favorite one right now is JuJutsu Kaisen), and take naps.
- Fun fact: I have been a BTS (boy band) fan (ARMY) since 2015 and am still a fan.

- Dream career: My dream is to work in wildlife conservation or field studies, or even at an animal nonprofit where I can help create a positive impact on both local ecosystems and the environment.

- What you love about ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ: I love how ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ brings together a diverse community and encourages openness to new ideas. The welcoming atmosphere, combined with the beautiful sunsets from campus, make it an amazing place to be.
- What you do in your free time: I enjoy getting creative through different activities such as scrapbooking and journaling. I also love collecting little trinkets (i love Calico Critters) and cute stickers! I also enjoy reading whenever I can.

- Fun fact: I sat up watching my surgeon while she was giving me 27 stitches.
