Library 

The library offers a variety of online services for students such as the following:

Try out the 24/7 with a Librarian for immediate questions like, "How do I find this article?" I need help finding sources about [X,Y,Z] "How do I find scholarly research that has quantitative data on it?"

Tutoring at the Student Service for Academic Achievement 

SCAA provides peer-to-peer content tutoring for writing across the curriculum, and for a number of math, statistics, and science courses. It also provides Peer Academic Coaching for study skills development. Tutoring and coaching is provided in both in-person and online formats. Schedule an online Peer Academic Coaching appointment for help with time management, planning & prioritization, navigating campus resources, and communication skills. Click to make an appointment 

The Online Writing Lab (OWL) allows students to submit papers online and receive feedback from a tutor through email. Writing tutors typically return feedback within 48-72 hours after submission. Click here to submit your paper

STEMLab 

The STEM Lab offers online tutoring Monday-Thursday from 5pm-7pm and Friday’s 9am-12pm. Click on the to join the virtual STEM Lab

Academic Advising 

Each college has its own advising structure in place to assist students in knowing and meeting their degree requirements. Our advisors work to be proactive with you and hopefully have reached out to you already, check your horizon (student) email

Each college based advisor utilizes Bay Advisor for scheduling appointments and for student advising notes. The main advising contact email for each college is below. If you do not know your advisor, please reach out to the college advising center and they will assist you

Commencement 

Fully online program students will have the option to join the in-person commencement ceremony OR a one-time virtual event. Participants will have access to a webpage which will allow to upload your photo and a message. Further details will be shared via email closer to the event date

Student Health & Counseling Services 

Interested in booking a medical or counseling appointment? Student Health and Counseling Services (SHCS) offers 45 minute appointments online through telehealth! Click to make an appointment or by calling (510) 885-3735

Recreation & Wellness Services (RAW)

Basic Needs 

Having trouble with affording food, housing, or school supplies? You may be eligible to receive emergency assistance funding! Submit an application today, to access. Please note the following information about our emergency assistance funding

  • Awards are based upon fund availability 
  • Emergency funds cannot be used for tuition and fees
  • Eligibility may require that all other sources of financial aid be exhausted (grants, scholarships, loans)
  • Emergency funds may be subject to taxes
  • Supporting documentation is encouraged and may be required

 

CalFresh 

CalFresh is financial aid you can eat! CalFresh is a nutrition assistance program that helps individuals and families buy the food they need. Students can receive up to $291/month in free money for groceries through CalFresh

Students are encouraged to complete our which takes less than 5 minutes to complete. At the end of it, you can find out whether you may be eligible for CalFresh benefits

Loaner Laptop Program

The library has a limited number of laptops to check out, on a first come, first served basis. If you are taking classes during the Spring and need a laptop for academic work, please call or email at (510) 885-4152 or techelp@csueastbay.edu for reservations. We can ship it out through UPS Ground! 

Email techelp@csueastbay.edu with the following information: 

  • A screenshot of their enrolled Spring 2024 courses
  • Complete mailing address and phone number
  • Sign the device checkout agreement (A horizon email is required) here

If you prefer to come in person to check out a laptop. We are open Mon- Thurs from 9 AM to 7 PM and Fri from 9 AM to 4 PM for checkouts (Hayward Campus Only). This is what you need:

  • BayCard (either the physical card or digital card via the ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ Mobile App) AND your student netID
  • A mobile device to fill out the device checkout agreement
  • A screenshot of their enrolled Spring 2024 courses
