Minor in Hospitality
The hospitality and tourism minor, given the multi-disciplinary nature of the field, presents students from various fields with additional career choices and opportunities during their studies and/or after graduation.
Current and past minors have come from various fields such as:

- Environmental science

- Recreation management
- Education
- Kinesiology
The hospitality and tourism industry values graduates with multi-disciplinary educational and professional experience.
Minor in Event Planning and Management
The minor in event planning and management prepares students for a career in an industry that is growing at a rapid pace. The curriculum focuses on the development of a meeting and event professional through experiential learning opportunities that complement the coursework. Students complete the minor with knowledge, skills, and abilities to assist them in a variety of roles in the meetings and events industry. All courses are completed online asynchronously; there are no meeting days or times, with the exception of group meetings in HOS 310. This minor is ideal for Business Administration, Communications, and related majors. **This is not available for HRT majors.
Minor in Recreation
The recreation minor provides students from various fields with additional career choices and opportunities during their studies and/or after graduation.
