Readers Theatre is sometimes referred to as "Theatre of the Mind". The audience must imagine the locale, the costumes, and most of the action. In this play the events move from the present, flash back to Roman times, and progress through the Middle Ages, Puritan times, the Age of Reason, the Citizens Revolution, World War I, and back to the ceremony commemorating the Unknown Soldier.

This is a 1910 comedy depicting the middle class in imperial Germany. The story revolves around a housewife who accidentally loses her underpants in a crowd. Two amorous gentlemen rent rooms in her house and try to seduce her, but her stern husband prevents them from being successful. In the meantime, he seduces their neighbor, a 31 year—old virgin.

- August 7-9, 14-16, 1970
- By James Goldman
- Directed by Donald B. Muir
- (Meiklejohn Courtyard)
This, if anything, is the serious message of James Goldman’s The Lion in Winter. By placing a contemporary look at a family squabble in the historical trapping of a 12th century Plantagenet court, Goldman has emphasized the not too startling fact that human emotions and motivations do not alter noticeably through the ages.
