Scholarships to Apply For:

1)

 The Theatre and Dance Department Scholarship provides scholarships and awards for students in the department.

 Requirements: 

  • - Be pursuing a major in Theatre Arts with at least one year completed at ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ
  • - Expects to enroll in at least the next Fall term. (and does)
  • - Have a minimum of 2.7 GPA
  • - Submit a 150-word essay covering your participation in productions at ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ and how this activity has affected you as a student and artist.

 Award - $100.00 - $500.00

Award will disburse in the Fall term.

Applicants are those who applied through Pioneer Scholarships but were not awarded another scholarship.

2)

 The Leonard Libresco Endowed Award for Academic Excellence in Theatre and Dance is awarded to a Theatre and Dance department major with a record of intellectual and academic achievement and a demonstrated interest in using the arts for social change. The award is intended to help each recipient pursue an innovative artistic idea. To qualify for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • - Be pursuing a major in Theatre Arts with at least one quarter completed at ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ
  • - Expects to enroll in at least the next Fall term. (and does)
  • - Have a minimum 3.6 GPA
  • - Submit a 300-word essay in which you describe an artistic project that you would like to undertake in the interests of social change.

 Award - $800.00

  3)

 The Carol Channing and Harry Kullijian Arts Education Scholarship is awarded to students pursuing a degree in Theatre Arts, with a preference for Music Theatre. To qualify for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • - Be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate, graduate or credential student 
  • - Expects to enroll in at least the next Fall term. (and does) 
  • - Preferred Option is Musical Theatre, also open to those who have been cast in a ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ musical or who have      taken at least one musical theatre applied, technique, or ensemble course
  • - Have a minimum of 3.0 GPA
  • - Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident

Award - Varies

Award will disburse in the Fall term

 4 ) Hunter/Rose Friends of the Arts Scholarship

 This scholarship is awarded to students pursuing a degree in Theatre Arts. To qualify for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • - Be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate, graduate or credential student 
  • - Expects to enroll in at least the next Fall term. (and does)
  • - Must be a declared Theatre Arts major with a minimum 3.0 GPA
  • - Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident

Open to any Pioneer Scholarship applicant who qualifies for one of the above opportunities (1-4). Unlike all the above opportunities, there is no separate application for this scholarship.

In extraordinary circumstances, the Scholarship Committee may recommend someone who did not apply through the system.
