ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ Concord Lyft Service

This pilot program replaces the Concord Shuttle service previously offered with County Connection. It began January 18, 2022 for the ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ Concord Center only. The program offers ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ students (currently enrolled in classes or programs through ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ), faculty and staff rides to/from Concord BART and the Concord Center during pre-determined time windows. Rides are restricted to/from Concord BART and Concord Center only, rides must start/end at those locations. 

There is no service during weekends, semester breaks and University holidays.*

 

Program Details:

  • Valid on Standard rides only
  • Up to 50 rides per month per person
  • Must start and end at Concord BART/ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ Concord Center
  • Monday -Thursday 7am-10:30pm and Friday 7am-6pm

How to Sign-Up

If you are interested in participating:

  1. Don’t yet have a Lyft account? Download the app to your phone and create an account to get started.
  2. Fill out the request verification from our department .
  3. Sign the release of liability form that will be sent to you.  
  4. If approved, check your ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ email for an invitation from Lyft Business, and follow the steps to sign up.
  5. Once you join, the complimentary Lyft Ride credits will apply to eligible rides during your time as a current ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ student/faculty/staff.

University Requirements for Riders

  • Face coverings are required at all times while on Lyft. Both the nose & mouth must be covered. No exceptions. Failure to comply with this policy may result in losing Lyft program privileges.
  • These requirements may be subject to change based on Contra Costa County guidelines

 

Lyft’s Health Safety Program

In response to COVID-19, Lyft launched a , which includes:

  • Personal health certification for drivers and riders
  • Health safety education for drivers and riders
  • Distribution of cleaning supplies for drivers

Safety Tips

Match your ride & driver

  • Verify your ride by making sure the license plate number, driver information, and car make and model match what you see in the app.
  • Ask for the driver's name and who they are picking up.

Track with GPS

  • Follow the Lyft vehicle on the GPS within the Lyft app.

Share your trip info

  • Share your location and route with a friend or loved one from within the Lyft app so they can follow your ride in real time.

Access 911

For emergency assistance, riders can reach 911 directly from the Lyft app. It will prominently display your current location and vehicle information, including the license plate. This makes it easy for you to inform dispatchers if needed.

 

Contact a Security Professional

Emergency Help, supported by ADT, is available for all Lyft riders nationwide. With Emergency Help, if a rider ever feels uncomfortable or unsafe, they are able to immediately connect with an ADT security professional silently or by voice for real-time help 24/7.

You can choose how you want ADT to communicate with you from the app:

  • Text
  • Call
  • Alert 911 silently on your behalf

If you choose for ADT to alert 911 on your behalf, authorities can arrive at the user’s live location, equipped with ride details like the vehicle’s make and model, license plate number, and the intended drop-off location.

 

Predicting When Help Is Needed

Smart Trip Check-In: If a ride looks to have unexplained delays, riders will hear from Lyft asking if they need support from their team — and if necessary, request emergency assistance.

 

Lyft Pass Help

 

My Lyft Pass didn’t apply when it was supposed to. What do I do?

Confirm in the Lyft app that your ride met the rules it needed to. You can do this by opening the ‘Payments’ tab in the app menu and finding the Lyft Pass section.

How do I know what the rules are for my Lyft Pass?

Go to the ‘Payment’ tab from the app menu. Find the Lyft Pass section and you’ll see any passes that have been shared with you.

ÂÌñ»»ÆÞ set these rules to ensure riders use the pass as intended. The rules could include ride types you can use (standard Lyft), pickup and drop-off locations, times of day, or days of the week.

Yes you can! Requests need to be made in writing, please contact parking@csueastbay.edu  at least the day before by noon (if your request is for a Monday, contact us on Friday by noon.) We will be able to schedule the ride(s) on your behalf.

Please note the Parking office will be closed when the University is closed. View the University Holiday Schedule. Please plan accordingly.

 

 The University will only pay for rides between these points, any rides beyond these points will be paid by the rider.
